Better News 2026/05: Expansion to Serbia

Welcome to the new edition of our Better Industry overview!

In this issue, we will introduce a new member of our team and take a closer look at our expansion to Serbia, which is highly significant for us.

In addition, we are bringing you new overviews from our development department in BI CONTROL.

PETR ČERNÍK – Junior Marketing Specialist

Our team has also recently welcomed Petr, who is currently the youngest member of the company. While studying at university, he works with us as a Junior Marketing Specialist, helping us with the preparation of marketing events, newsletters, and case studies. As a true representative of Generation Z, Petr is close to modern trends, the online world, and social media.

Petr is reliable, hardworking, and quickly became someone we can truly count on. In addition to marketing, he maintains a healthy lifestyl. So he has been successfully resisting our regular coffee and cake breaks so far. He prefers to spend his free time actively, mainly through working out and sports

Serbia | M&M Fruits

Our company’s long-term strategy is to expand our business activities beyond the borders of the Czech Republic. Since 2021, we have successfully implemented projects in Slovakia, Belgium, the USA, Canada, Serbia, and France. Currently, we are preparing our first project in Italy, where we are at the stage of reviewing the technical documentation of the production equipment. Implementing projects abroad is always an interesting experience that pushes us a bit further. From a business perspective, however, these have so far mostly been branches or subsidiaries of our existing customers in the Czech Republic.

We are currently working on the first major change. A brand-new project for M&M Fruits d.o.o., which we are handing over these days in its final and approved form, is writing a new story. This is a company with no ties to any of our domestic customers, and this success is the result of our previous work on other projects in Serbia.

Thanks to our natural willingness to maximize the benefits of the delivered solution. Adapt to customer requirements, and disregard distance or language barriers, we have found a new partner in Serbia who “succumbed” to our way of working and will join us on our next journey of growth and expansion of business activities in the Serbian region and perhaps beyond.

Through our new partner, we have successfully completed and handed over the project at M&M Fruits d.o.o. M&M Fruits is a manufacturer of packaging and packaging materials for the food industry, primarily utilizing technologies for the plastics industry, such as injection molding machines and extruders.

The project is not large in terms of the number of machines, but rather in its complexity. The delivery includes both the connection of machines for their monitoring and OEE evaluation. As well as the delivery of operator terminals for working with the system directly from the machine. Special custom management reports for the company’s leadership are also an integral part of the delivered solution. Naturally, a local language mutation, including an English extension, is provided. After the initial project launch, further phases will follow. Such as a REST API to the local ERP system or the connection of additional production equipment.

Successful implementation and customer satisfaction open the doors for us to another company. Where we are beginning talks about the possibility of implementing our system. We are already planning our next business trip to Serbia, which I am personally looking forward to, and I expect further business opportunities.

BETTER FUTURE-CON

As we previously announced in our last newsletter, we are gradually revealing the new updates and projects coming up this summer and autumn.

One of our main milestones will be our very own event, Better Future Con. It is a place where manufacturing companies, technology partners, and experts from the modern industry sector will connect.

Visitors can look forward to real-world case studies, inspiring presentations from top industry leaders in manufacturing, technology, and digitalization in practice. The goal of the event is to provide concrete inspiration from real projects, share practical experiences from companies, and offer access to technologies that deliver measurable results—not just theory without practice.

Confirmed guests include, among others:

  • Ing. Lukáš Vlček – Member of Parliament for the Vysočina Region, 1st Vice-Chairman of STAN, and former Minister of Industry and Trade.
  • Mgr. Jan Grolich – Governor of the South Moravian Region and Chairman of KDU-ČSL.
  • Ing. arch. Ondřej Venclík Jr. – Special guest, Founder & CEO of Plastic Guys.

And that is just the beginning; we will be introducing more interesting personalities gradually.

The entire event will take place on September 24, 2026, in the beautiful surroundings of Panský dvůr Telč.

Book Launch: Official Release of the Publication “Maintenance Engineering of the 3rd Millennium”

The Czech Maintenance Society is organizing the 22nd international professional conference MAINTENANCE 2026, taking place on October 14 and 15, 2026, at the CAS Conference Centre at Liblice Chateau. This year’s edition bears the subtitle “MAINTENANCE OF THE 3rd MILLENNIUM = Maintenance with a Vision of the Future” and will focus on the transition to Industry 5.0, where modern technologies such as AI and digitalization interconnect with the crucial role of humans.

The highlight of the program and the symbol of this year’s conference will be the celebratory launch of the new book “Maintenance Engineering of the 3rd Millennium”. This publication aims to become a new manifesto for a modern approach to asset and technology management in the digital era.

We are proud to be part of this vision for the future of industry. We are delighted that our activities and contribution to the field of modern industrial process management will be featured within this major professional event and its accompanying materials.

Developer Update: New Dashboards in BI CONTROL

We have added new dashboards to BI CONTROL, expanding production analysis capabilities and helping to identify losses and improvement opportunities more quickly.

Utilization by Machine

This dashboard is used to analyze machine utilization, from the highest level of status groups and downtimes down to the detail of individual downtime reasons. Users get a quick overview of the structure of both productive and non-productive time across machines.

Production Summary Report

Provides information on all product production runs, including time availability, performance, quality, and OEE. Production runs can be grouped by product, and the data can be broken down to the level of individual shifts.

Metrics by Machine

An overview of the most important production KPIs in one place. Users have instant access to metrics such as OEE, TEEP, MTBF, MTTR, production time, process losses, or a comparison of ideal and actual pieces.

The new dashboards provide a better overview of production, simplify the search for losses, and support data-driven decision-making.
